My full name is Chyna Eboni Benoit. I am a painter, photographer, graphic designer, freelance makeup artist, writer, and a mentor for High School students. I also do tattoo designs but I do not do the tattooing myself. I was born and raised on Flatbush in Brooklyn, NY.

               When it comes to art, my motto is “Happiness has less detail”. When you think about it, yeah, happiness is wonderful and all but if you  draw a happy person the details are common and almost ‘predictable’. Pain and suffering are where I believe the interesting details are. From looking at one of my sketches my friend said “This is inappropriate.” I responded with a simple “Why? How is a nude human being inappropriate? How is death/decay inappropriate when it’s a factor of life? How is the truth of decay inappropriate?” 

               My mom asked if my work is Jesus inspired. My response was “It’s not, but why does it have to be? Nor does that mean it was devil inspired. None of my art HAS to be inspired by "a side." It’s inspired by what I find to be beautiful and alluring.” My other friend said to stop being so defensive. I told him that if I wasn’t defensive, some people wouldn’t understand why I draw what I draw.
